With your purchase you support the preservation of the last traditional coastal fishery in the German Baltic Sea coast. The project community between a group of independent, artisanal coastal fishermen and us exists since 2012.

We process the herring in our own factory near Munich into delicious salads and Rollmops. We receive it raw and lay it over one week in a bath with real spices like Peppercorns, bay leaves and juniper berries. We only use pure spices and do not use any flavorings, spice extracts or mixtures.


Fishing with set nets has a long tradition here and still shapes the culture and economy of the German East coast today. These nets have larger mesh widths than specified by the state. This drastically reduces the catch of too young fish. Trawls which destroy the sea ground are totaly forbidden.
